The Nature of Existence

AFRAID OF PEOPLE
Social anxiety is anxiety (emotional discomfort, fear, apprehension, or worry) about social situations, interactions with others, and being evaluated or scrutinized by other people. The difference between Social Anxiety and normal apprehension of social situations is that social anxiety involves an intense feeling of fear in social situations and especially situations that are unfamiliar or in which you will be watched or evaluated by others. The feeling of fear is so strong that in these types of situations you may be so worried that you feel anxious just thinking about them and will go to great lengths to avoid them.

NAKED CITIZENS
Increasing numbers of “terror suspects” are now being arrested on the basis of online and CCTV surveillance data. Authorities claim they act in the public interest, but does this intense surveillance keep us safer?

CHINA’S DIRTY SECRETS
China’s factories provide low cost products such as computers and cars to the rest of the world. But critics claim such economic progress takes a heavy toll, polluting the country’s air, land and rivers.

GUNS, CULTURE AND CRIME IN THE U.S.
For the first time in years, US politicians are discussing serious gun control measures. But millions of people in the country’s inner cities live with the threat of gun violence on a daily basis.

America’s War Games

They have been held without charge for over 14 years collectively. The court concluded that “there would be no violation of the applicants’ rights if extradited to stand trial in the United States”. These men have been let down by the British justice system and now face being incarcerated in one of America’s toughest prisons.
